Players thoughts ahead of the 14th HSBC Women’s World Championship

Two-time champion Inbee Park: “I think the real season starts from this week.”

Seven time Major Winner Inbee Park on the field: “The best women's golfers in the world is playing in this championship, and you know, when you win this championship, you truly feel like you're the best player in women's golf.”

World No.3 Lydia Ko’s thought ahead of the tournament: “I think they say this is like Asia's major. HSBC has always done a fantastic job of hosting this event. Obviously the last couple years, it's been a little different circumstances, different environment just with COVID and everything.”

The golf course is in great shape. I was lucky enough to play both the Serapong and the new Tanjong here at Sentosa. They make it in that pristine shape; that you try to play the best golf you can. This year, I think they grew out the rough a little bit, so it is a little bit more demanding than other years. Inbee mentioned before, it's fair for everyone. I don't think it suits one specific type of player, and I like that. It just puts a lot more players in contention and hopefully we'll be able to put on a good show case this week.”

World No 1 Jin Young Ko on her three month break from the LPGA: “It was pretty short to me. And I'm back to Korea, and I spent time with my family and friends and my dog as well. And I watch Netflix in my bed with potato chips. And, yeah, I didn't practice much over four weeks or five weeks. And I go back to States in Palm Springs for winter training for the month. And I got here.”

Jin Young Ko on the course: “Course condition is amazing. So I love it… Everything's good. Greens, fairways, like carpet.”

Danielle Kang on HSBC: “The support that HSBC has shown to LPGA is incredible. We've been consistent here. We've been bringing the fans, the sponsors. It's just they treat us like royalty out here.”

Danielle Kang on why she loves Singapore: “It's not just golf, but people around. Everyone here is so friendly, and the culture here I love. I love the diversity in this country. Transportation is done perfectly. Now we're on Orchard, Orchard Road or Orchard Street, I believe. And, I mean, you can shop if you want. You can go wherever you want to go. It's pretty cool.”
